It isn’t often that you get to see a celebrity with millions of followers on a national news program launching her new innovations! When you watch the video below, you can learn how celebrity chef Paula Deen takes her few minutes in the spotlight to prioritize her message. She’s a pro!

Take note how she moves away from FOX & Friends’ desire to talk about fried chicken and begin with her new “Consumables” collection of baking mixes whose packaging we designed at Inventionland (for Jokari.com)!

Paula Deen got a full plug in as she talked about all of her new products, then eventually got to talking about the Fried Chicken Coating Mix that led to the purpose of their segment on FOX & Friends for National Fried Chicken Day. It was a beautiful transition and Paula and Jokari received lots of free advertising for the new product line we helped to develop at Inventionland!

The lesson for new innovators is to know how to craft and stay on message to get the word out!

Inventionland: Pittsburgh Coolest Offices

Pittsburgh Business Times kicked off a series featuring the city’s “most interesting, inspiring, and attractive office spaces,” and I’m delighted to see our creative design facility, Inventionland, leading the way as the first of “Pittsburgh’s Coolest Offices.”

“Ideas are conceived at the round table in the Inventalot Castle, take root inside Davy’s Treehouse, come to life inside Animation Attic, and really take off at the Inventionland Motor Speedway.” Read more from the write-up and check out the gallery of our unique themed sets here.

Fox & Friends Features Hydro Bone

It’s always thrilling to see Davison client products featured on prominent media channels. The Hydro Bone, and other products from the Hydro line, were recently featured on Fox & Friends in a segment on life-saving solutions for pets in the summer heat.

Celebrity vet Dr. Carol Osborne led a pup into a pool where the Hydro Fetch and Hydro ring were floating alongside the Arctic Freeze Bone. Osborne explained the importance of protecting pets in extreme temperatures.

Our client, Diane, aimed to do just that with her product idea, which developed into the line licensed by Hugs Pet Products. The Hydro Bone has now sold in retailers like Petco, Home Depot, and Bed Bath & Beyond, and it has been featured on ABC’s “Good Morning America” and CBS’ “The Early Show.” It is also a Dog Fancy Editors’ Choice Award winner. Congratulations, Diane!

On the Steve Harvey Show

I was recently a guest on season three of Steve Harvey’s Emmy-award-winning talk show. I made the nationwide appearance in order to help judge the “Pitch to Win” contest.

We had a fun time! I was pleased to award the contest winner, a working mom with a big idea, a $10,000 check from our own Inventionland. We will continue to help her as she seeks connections with major retailers.

Ripley's Believe it or Not Features Inventionland

We can’t believe it! Inventionland was praised as a “Tree-mendous Office” in Ripley’s Believe it or Not “The Remarkable… Revealed.” Our 60,000-square-foot design facility is featured among other unique places from around the world in the recently published book.

It’s true, Inventionland is unlike any other work space. After all, we have grassy knolls, a tree house, and 16 themed sets where Davison designers sketch out their latest product development ideas in sets related to their product class — a pirate ship, a pet shack, a motor speedway.

Inventionland has been the subject of many news articles, business tours, and community events, but this mention is a true honor. I have always admired Ripley’s for their celebration of unique individuals and out-of-the-box thinking and creativity.
